What an Amazing Weekend!

REVIVAL!

HOPE!

LOVE!

These are the three words that stuck out as I sat through listening to Shane Claiborne and KP Yohanna at a conference in Halifax, NS. Revival for the church, hope for the lost, the oppressed and the unreached, and a love trail that a new generation of Christians are leaving behind.

I mainly went to hear Shane speak, but as I walked into the first plenary session this smaller set old Indian man took the stage and microphone. He was born into one of the few Christian communities in India, as luck would have it. As I was sitting there, not expecting much at all really, he began to win my heart over. He spoke so passionately about the Dalits in India (lowest of the low, so low that they are only considered sub human to the upper class.) And just like that the message of hope for the Dalits through reaching the children and rescuing them and providing an education had won my heart over. He concluded with informing us that his new book, “No Longer a Slum-dog”, was available free of charge at a booth after the service. And he wasn’t doing it to obtain publicity or become more popular, but to spread the message of the needy in India.

As for Shane, I could never write enough. Ever. All I can say is he is on to something big, and  God is revealing what the future may have to look like for us through his life.

Self-lessness,

Humility,

Compassion,

and most of all

LOVE.

Everything is reminding me of you today.

It’s been three years, but I’m not sure why, but I can’t shake this right now. Just need a friend.

My guitar is pretty :)

My guitar is pretty :)

Greater things!

Incredibly excited for what God has in store for this week!

It’s BEAUTIFUL outside!

A few months of God’s beautiful snow was more than nice, and it was a constant reminder of what he did to save us, how he makes us white as snow. BUT! With spring on her way, and all of her colors in the air I feel such a sense of renewal and revival in the air.

God is doing amazing things.

And we get to take part in it all.

Whether it’s being a father to the fatherless, feeding a hungry mouth, quenching your brother or sister’s thirst, or clothing the naked; we get to go forth and show them what the kingdom of God looks like.

So! Don’t let fear hold you back, please! When you are persecuted, no matter how sever or lite it may be, know that you are suffering WITH Christ. And as 1 Peter 4: 13 says : “Instead, be very glad - for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.”

So let’s join in on the good work that has already started! Together, as a one minded and loving body of Christ. As brother and sister, let’s go forth and live out the Kingdom of God right here, and now.

All I want.

Is to be honestly and genuinely asked “how are you doing?”

Addictions

Drugs, alcohol, self harm, lust. Whatever it may be, is, I think, more that just liking to have sex a little to much, or making yourself feel pain, or making yourself feel good and forget everything. It is rooted so much deeper. To say a porn addict is only addicted because he just likes porn to much or struggles with lust, is a understatement. It’s not a new thing, in Jesus’ time men went to pagan temples and confused having sex with a prostitute with worshiping God. These struggles are so much more, it is all rooted, I think, to the longing for something greater, and something so much more than us. The longing for a savior, or trying to please something. Well, God is that something. But we can’t please, we can’t offer anything to make him love is more than he already does. But yet we still feel some gap between us and God, so we open that tab, or bring out that razor, to try to close this gap. But Jesus already did that. He came to us. We NEED to come to Jesus before we could ever come to the father.
